November 12, 2015 | Leave a comment A year ago this week, our pastor, his wife, and several other missionary friends made a trip over from the States to visit the church here in China and us. During that time, our church, Grace Baptist Church, was officially organized! It was an extremely special time… having our “spiritual parents” here for the organizing of our first church plant. A memory that will stick with us for forever I am sure. November 9, 2014 And so, Sunday we were able to celebrate our first anniversary together as a church! We celebrated the best way we knew how which was just to do church! My husband preached a powerful message about Jesus, and afterwards we took the Lord’s Supper together. God worked in several people’s hearts, and one man, whom my husband had been praying for, accepted Christ after the services. There’s nothing more exciting or worth celebrating than that! It was beyond encouraging! As we met Sunday and reflected on the past year, I thought about all that we have been through as a church, the beautiful moments and the messier ones… the breathtaking mountaintop moments…and the rocky valleys… and how much we’ve learned and grown through them. I am so thankful for how far God has brought us all and for how close we’ve become in the process! Our anniversary being in November is so fitting… a month in which we take the time to reflect on all that we have to be thankful for. I know I am beyond grateful for our church. I’m so thankful for the opportunity God has given us to be a part of His work here and to be able to see His working in the lives of these amazing people. It is so exciting! I’m also so thankful for the five years God has given us on the Mainland, and for all He’s taught us thus far. We are indeed unworthy. Happy Anniversary to all the beautiful people that make up Grace Church! I love you all more than I could express.
