WARNING:  This is going to be a long post. This means if you’re like me, and you don’t read many blog posts that are over 300 words, you may not want to start this one. 🙂

Let me start by saying “Thank You.” Thank you to the thousands who have been praying for our family. I have felt your prayers throughout each day and every appointment that I have been too thus far. It is humbling to say the least, to know so many of you in this country and abroad love us and are lifting us up in prayer. Your cards, emails, facebook messages, phone calls, and gifts have also been extremely encouraging to me, especially. This is one of the many reasons I am starting this blog.

If you are new, let me introduce myself. My name is Natasha. My husband, Mark, and I along with our 19 month old daughter, Ava Mei, are missionaries to the country of China. We are currently on deputation (which simply means we are traveling the country raising the funds needed to begin our ministry in China) and plan on leaving for the field in August.

You must know, from the start, that I am not a blogger. I have never kept a personal journal. Writing intimidates me even if I am the only one reading it. I am a thinker, a communicator. I constantly have things running through my mind, and if you know anything about me, I do love to talk (one on one that is lol)!! So, you would think writing wouldn’t be such a big deal, right? After all, it is a form of communication! Well, I’m not sure where my fear of writing came from, but I am going to try to overcome it through this blog.

“Why?!” You ask?

One, because this blog isn’t really about me; it is about a blessing from heaven that has changed my life forever.

Two, because God has done so many amazing things throughout the last couple of weeks. I feel compelled to write simply because I don’t want to ever forget all the intricate details in our story that he has so delicately woven together.

And three, because of you who have prayed for our family. I am overwhelmed (I say this in a good way) at the amount of emails, messages, texts, cards, and voice mails that we have received over the last couple of weeks. They mean more than words could ever express, and I have read (or listened to) and cherished every thing communicated to us. I mean that! However, due to the amount that we have received and the fact that we are still actively traveling on deputation, I have been unable to answer back to every person. I know you don’t expect it, but I desire to! So, this blog also allows me to communicate and update more than one person at a time. It is a centrally located “email,” if you will,  to every person who desires to stay up to date on this “journey” of mine.

After reading all of that, did you get that this is a multi-purpose blog? haha.

And for the title? Because our lives are ever-changing, I wanted a title that would stay the same no matter our situation. Every moment of our lives whether good or bad is a part of some amazing journey God has planned for us. Our journey(s) may change over the years, but they are what make us who we are. My current “journey,” you ask?  A journey through my second pregnancy.

STOP! If you are new to our situtation, I know what you are now thinking.

“I know I did not read the previous paragraphs only to find that this is another boring pregnancy blog?!?!?!?!?!?!?!”

No worries. This pregnancy is in no way boring. Again, I know what you’re thinking.

“That is exactly what every other mother says about her pregnancy.”

True. But do you remember how I said, “writing intimidates me.” There is no way I would have started a blog about your average pregnancy! In fact, I am already 23 weeks along (almost 6 months) and just now starting this because up until 20 weeks, I had no proof  that this baby was not your average baby. I had my suspicions. Because in truth, every mother knows, but I could have never imagined what we are experiencing or are a part of today.

I hope you will continue reading over the next couple of months to follow along with me on this amazing journey. I know you will not be disappointed. God writes the most amazing stories 🙂

  • I am so proud of you. I will be here to following you through this journey. Anything I can do…….just ask. Praying for you all.

  • Tasha,
I am so proud of you and Mark, for the way you both always display your lives. You both love the Lord, and know that ALL that happens, happens for His purpose. But as a mother, my heart, love, any prayers are with you and both of your families. I am so proud of the woman that you have grown into, and blessed to have known you.
    Love,
    Amanda and Tracy Patterson
